Roberto De Nova

† 29.04.1938 ≈ 17.12.2024

Honorary Partner

Graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano.

He began his brilliant career working first as an assistant at the University of Pavia and later at the Politecnico di Milano.

After several years of service in some of the most renowned mechanical engineering companies in Lombardy, he decided to continue his career by becoming a patent and trademark attorney before the Italian Patent and Trademark Office, and subsequently a European Patent Attorney before the European Patent Office.

He worked at one of the most prestigious intellectual property consulting firms in Milan, later joining the Botti & Ferrari team in 1999, bringing his ingenuity and expertise to every office, serving not only clients but also colleagues. He became a mentor to all other professionals in the firm, fostering both their professional and personal growth.

The firm owes much to Eng. De Nova who, throughout all these years of shared professional experience, has always proven to be an exceptionally skilled professional, a person with great spirit and an uncommon sense of humor, which has enriched all of us extraordinarily and pleasantly—not only on a professional level but, above all, on a human level.

We will always remember his teachings and his idiomatic expressions: “cercare il freddo per il letto” (to make life difficult for oneself); “il meglio è nemico del bene” (the best is the enemy of the good); and the timeless “girare il bambino nella culla” (to move the goalposts).

Eng. De Nova will always be one of us, and for everyone, he will always and only be “L’ING.”
