Japan, Prime Minister Emphasises Importance Of Ip

Japanese Prime Minister Mr. Koizumi has recently expressed his desire that Japan becomes a nation based on Intellectual Property. This is about to become true as recent changes within the JPO have brought about a number of improvements, in particular: an increase in examination procedures, the development of IP companies, support on innovation, development of brands and innovation, and encouragement of new IP areas, such as IP at regional level. The JPO also aims to reduce the waiting time for examination to 11 months by 2013, and to eventually abolish waiting times altogether.
