Swedish TV station TV4 was sued by the authors for including commercial breaks in two movies. According o the Swedish Copyright Act, Section 3, p. 2, in fact, «a work of art may not be changed in a manner which is prejudicial to the author’s literary or artistic reputation or to his individuality, nor may it be made available to the public in the manner stated». The Court found that, although commercial breaks cannot be considered to violate the individuality of the authors, nonetheless, TV4 had violated the individuality of the authors by including the commercial breaks without prior consent from the authors. The decision has been appealed by TV4.
