Bio-Rad, Patent Infringement

MJ Research, a division of Bio-Rad Laboratories Inc. is to pay another $15 million on top of the previously awarded $19.8 million for patent infringement. The ruling comes a year after a jury decided that the company had “willfully” infringed patents related to polymerase chain reaction owned by competitor Roche Molecular Systems and Applied Biosystems.
