Carlos Amado Vs. Microsoft Corp.

Carlos Armando Amado, a Guatemalan inventor, sued Microsoft Corp. in 1990 for illegally using technology of his invention to link spreadsheet data between two Microsoft’s Excel programs with its Access database application via a single spreadsheet. Only two years earlier he had unsuccessfully attempted to sell it to Microsoft. Amado is seeking damages exceeding $500 million.
