Thailand, Geographical Indications

As of April 28th, 2004, a new Act allows producers of goods or services originating in and deriving their quality or reputation from a specific geographic location, to register their products or services as geographical indications with the Department of Intellectual Property. Fines have been established for those who violate the Act by deceptively employing a recognized geographical location.
