South Korea, Number Patent Applications

According to the KIPO (Korean Intellectual Property Office) there has been a 17.4% increase in the number of patent applications in 2004 with respect to 2003. This sharp increase compared to the previous year is due to the fact that Korean companies have been investing heavily on R&D and International firms have been filing more applications in Korea.
