The Rio de Janeiro State Court judged baseless the appeal proposed by the Brazilian Telecommunications company S/A- EMBRATEL against the decision that the abbreviation “DDI”, standing for “International Direct Dialing” for public domain. EMBRATEL has the registration of the trademark since 1986 and has since become an alternative way to say, in fact, “international direct dialing”. EMBRATEL can file an appeal with the Superior Court of Justice of the Brasilia Supreme Federal Court.
