China, Lawyers As Trademark Agents

The Beijing No.1 Intermediate People’s Court has reversed a decision that had been adopted by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce. Previously, the referred Law firm was not included in the Trademark Law as an organization that could procure trademarks. The Court then ruled that, as trademark filing is a legal service, it should fall under the Lawyer’s Law. Following the Court’s decision, Chinese Lawyers are now entitled to act as trademark agents.
