Protection Of Designs In France

The French design law has been amended to bring it in line with the EU Directive No. 98/71/EC dated Oct. 13, 1998 and concerning the protection of designs and models. A design or model must be new and have an individual character. The duration of the protection is changed to 25 years formed by a first 5 year period and four extensions.
