Standardization Ip Procedures

Korea, Japan and China have agreed on a business practice meeting aimed at simplifying the international patent application procedures and standardizing the current examination methods. Priority is to be given to the standardization of a design registration range, as the States differ in this. In fact, Korea and Japan are asking China to allow the “partial design registration”, as currently China allows a design for a whole object, e.g. a whole car rather than its parts. Also, China does not adopt the preferential examination except for an invention for a public purpose. Standardization in this respect is being sought also.
