Amendments Merchandise Marks Act

The Merchandise Marks Act (MMA) has been amended with new regulations concerning labeling of products imported into South Africa. All importers have until May 22, 2005 to comply. According to the new Regulations, labeling should appear on all goods and comply with the origin or the country of manufacture or production, the composition of the material used, etc. The provision applies to a wide range of good, in particular textiles, clothing, shoes, etc.
