German-based companies are the keenest in applying for design protection, according to statistics released by EU authority OHIM. No less than 26% of applications come from Germany, ahead of Italy (15%), USA (10%) and Japan (4%). The company that has submitted the largest number of design protection applications (795) is Colgate-Palmolive.
