Changes In Requirements For Tm Applications

Requirements for trademark applications in Turkey have changed as of April 11, 2005. Requirements for filing trade/service/collective mark applications now include: 1. A simply signed power of attorney; 2. A certified copy of the corresponding home registration or a certificate of activity issued by the Chamber of Commerce in the applicant’s home country; 3. Five prints of the trademark (not applicable to word marks); 4. The list of the goods/services and classes of pertinence; and 5. A certified copy of the priority document, which can be submitted within three months from the filing date. All such documents must be submitted at the time of filing. Charges for filing trademark applications in one, two, three classes and filing a mark application in each additional class included in the same application have been modified.
